AN ACCESSIBLE WEBSITE FOR A CAREER DEVELOPMENT COACH

Tamsin Crook got in touch when she was struggling with her corrupt Wordpress site. Tamsin wanted a new website that was clean, with a no nonsense approach and something she could manage herself. Accessibility was also important, and we worked closely together to ensure that Tamsin's new website provided a more accessible experience for her clients.

Making Careers Work didn't have an established brand image, but Tamsin liked the concept of career direction and was keen to keep her sun/compass icon. We settled for a refresh of the logo – with a more characterful typeface and refined strapline. The concept of pathways and journeys would be reinforced through stylised map patterns and copywriting.

Tamsin wanted a website that was clean, with a 'no nonsense' approach. Career coaching for those with ADHD is an important part of her role, so she was also interested in widgets that allowed a more accessible experience of her website. The cost of such a plugin was prohibitive however, so we sought to create a similar experience. Considerations included font size and legibility; contrast of colours; highlighting readily available features (such as zoom in/out); and audio recordings of the text (by Tamsin herself).

Upon completion of the website, we connected via video chat, and Tamsin had a virtual tour of her new site and how to manage and update it herself.

IN BRIEF

I'm so pleased with my new website. I would highly recommend Jackie, not only for her technical talent and creativity but also for her approachable and responsive manner, which I really valued.
